The Dropouts also succeed ---- a point of view ----

           Dropping out has always fascinated me. Dropping out of college is always something that has intrigued me a lot. the reason being that quite a few of them who actually dropout gone to become not just world beaters but path breaking innovators who actually improve humanity as a whole. While my intention is not to encourage pupil to dropout, I feel that this actually work for a certain section.

          Education is defined as a process in which we gain knowledge,values and skills set that can aid our future lives. In today's educational system we are told that these three core competencies are imbued in us unfortunately that is not always the case. the fact is quite a few cases we are stuck in the illusion that we shall obtained these under the grab of a degree certificate. A degree certificate largely a reflection of our memorizing ability, our ability to study local author books to pass the exam some how and also of knowledge which eventually gets diluted once we enter the working world.

        In essence, our educational experiences fits the person who is comfortable with adapting himself to a structured system. The structured system is efficient in it own ways but it suits only certain type of people. On the other hand, the person who has dropped out, ironically, attains all the three competencies with his experience with the practical world.

          First the drop out experiences downright humiliation from society. Our society decry and despise him for his inability to cope with the Engineering-Medical demands. He then goes through a stage where he is mentally corned and he decides to peruse the unknown. He starts to explore himself more since he has the time to do so and doesn't have much of a choice.

          Once in the exploration process, he decides to explore the unknown in his area of interest. he is not confined by the structures set by either society or the system, thus the exploration covers a much wider area of study since that the individual never takes anything for granted.

         For example:- If I was an engineering student, I would forgo some chapter in my syllabus since these would not be covered for the "exam". on the other hand, the dropouts would try to explore the practical implication of this subject and explore the unknown within this subject by reading on his own. As such, this allows him to study beyond the realms of structural education which narrows down our intelligence to a stream lined path. This immense exploration enhances that the individual's knowledge in a much wider perspective, a perspective that would enhance his skills set also.

           Skill set is a very crucial aspects of education. In fact the focus on education should be on the skills set more than the academic jargon. Once an individual starts to explore and settles in one's specific area (owing to his own exploration and not what the system pushes him into) then that individual will look for skill sets that can help him out. Additional courses can help him gain this practical knowledge that can directly help his area of interest.

           My reference here is people who want to succeed but they are not able to do well in the education system we have. In no way do I encourage people dropping out, if given option it should be avoided.

          Just because u dropout doesn't mean the world ends, it is just the beginning of whole knew exciting world!

           Two Astronauts reached venus successfully. It is a wonderful moment in indian history. The astonauts are Roshan (34) and Roy (32). They found green rocks and also they collected the soil of Venus, it will used for further studies about Venus. The astronaut said that it is really interesting and wonderful to watch the beauty of venus.

Kurosaw's Magical tales of Art...Time and Death....

               

 

                    A solemn little boy comes out of his house one rainy morning to find the sun shining. His mother practical and nonsense,looks up at the sky and says that foxes hold their wedding processions in such weather."they don"t like to be seen by people".,she says ,and goes about her business.

                 The causal remark is enough to send the boy into the forest.,where the trees are large and imposing as California redwoods.Even the ferns are taller than he is.The rain glistens within the shafts of sunlight,the boy moves with a certain amount of dread.this is forbidden territory.

                   In a moment of pure screen enchantment,a strange wedding procession slowly comes into view,the priests in front,followed by bridal pair,their attendants their families,their friends and their retainers.they walk on two feet,like people,but that they are foxes is clear from the orangey whiskers on their otherwise rice-powder-white,mask like faces.

                The procession appears to be choreographed.the foxes march in union to the hollow clicking sounds of ancient musical instruments.Every few steps their haughty manner becomes furtive,when,as if one cue,they abruptly pause,cock their heads to the side ,listen and then move on.

                 This is the sublime beginning of "Sunshine Through the Rain" the first segment of the eight that compose Akira Kurusowas Dreams" the grand new film by the 80 year old Japaneese master who over a 40 year period has given us Rashomon",Throne of Blood and Ran,among other classics.

             One might have expected Dreams to be a summing up,a coda.It isn't. Its something altogether new for kurosowas ,a collection of short,sometimes fragmentary films that are less like dreams than fairy tales of past,present and future.The magical and mysterious are mixed with the practical,funny and polemical.

             The movie is about many things, including the terrors of childhood,parents who are Olympian as gods, the seductive nature of death,nuclear annihilation, environmental pollution and in a segment titled simply Crows art.Dreams is a willful work,being exactly the kind of film that Kurusowa wanted to make , with no apologise to  anyone.

                 The foxes in Sunshine through the Rain are not especially unruly,but their power Isreal and implacable.when the little boy returns home from the forest ,he is met by his mother,who has run out of patience with him.She hands the boy a dagger,neatly sheathed within a bamboo scabbard,and tells him the foxes have  left it for him.

                Since the boy has broken the law protecting the privacy of foxes, they expect him as a boy of honour to kill himself. The boy dewildered. His mother sighs and says if he can find the foxes again, he might persuade them to forgive him. In that case, he can come home. In the mean time the door will be locked. The boy looks hopeful, " But", his mother points out, " They dont often forgive".

               Dreams is a work by a director who has continued to be vigorous and productive into an age at which most film makers are suppose to go silent. Movies are a young man's game. "Dreams" is a report from one of the lost frontiers of cinema.

Review of the malayalam film 'Beautiful"

........... SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL ! , IT IS ........

      It is the return of brilliance and team work to Mollywood and this movie definitely will strike a chord with any one who at many points life succumbed to basic human feelings like love, lust, fear, anguish of loss and the magical realm of friendship and the director has nailed it write with the help of eye catching frames a elegant treatment and good performances by the actors.............. ' Beautiful' !..........

    Director V K Prakash is not a novice to experiments. The story revolves around a multimillionaire Stephan (Jayasurya) who is down Paraplegia and destined to leave his entire life on a wheel chair.But still he keeps a smile on his face and enjoys every moments in his on ways. he find a good acquaintance in singer John (Anup Menon) who is later revealed as his school mate. John's soothing voice and songs keep stephan live all the time and at this point enters a new home nurse Anjali (Meghna). The entire plot is well knitted and each character has some depth, be it that of Praveena who appears only in a single scene. There is touch of quality......... Beautiful !............

       

      Focussing the script, a carefully woven one by Anup Menon. With some good one-liners and without any dramatic tone, the dialogues sound good. It has some cleverly written moments in it. for instance to define the meaninglessness of beauty Kamalu (Nandu) is not giving any great explanations, but simply asks Stephan and John to think what will happen if the girl is affected with stomach issues. Some dialogues in the movie like " Marraige is nothing but a license for an extra marital affair" may even amuse some. But there is discipline and hidden brilliance in the script

... Beautiful ! .........

        Overall the movie underlines the fact that Malayalam cinema has to break the mould if it aims to grab the ice. It is not an extra ordinary movie but is .... Beautiful.!...........
